Kate Walz

Kate Walz is the owner & creator of KW Gardens and Flowers located in Port Washington, New York on Long Island's north shore. She is also a horticulturist, garden consultant, mentor, floral designer and lover of all things growing in nature. Kate specializes in creating beautiful gardens that highlight every season and crafting garden-style floral arrangements that showcase seasonal and local flowers and foliage.

Kate has always had a deep passion for everything related to plants, flowers and nature. A graduate of College of the Holy Cross, Massachusetts with a BA in Psychology and Farmingdale State College’s School of Urban Horticulture & Design, New York, Kate launched a business that merged both areas of study, recognizing the importance of natural beauty and flowers in cultivating a person’s well being and emotional state.

Kate initially established KW Garden Design, to help local homeowners create beautiful gardens with fresh color palettes and seasonally interesting plants.

With her green thumb and artistic sensibility, Kate expanded her services a few years later, creating KW Gardens & Flowers, which incorporated floral design into her repertoire. As a passionate gardener-florist, she specializes in crafting natural arrangements that showcase the colors and textures found in gardens and nature. Her designs are known for their natural, whimsical, garden-style aesthetic, often featuring locally grown and seasonal flowers to support local and domestic flower growers.

Kate gathers her garden & floral design inspiration from the natural world's beauty. From gardens and container plantings, to unique floral arrangements, she loves to combine texture, form and color to create something beautiful. Her work has received high praise from clients, who appreciate her ability to transform dull spaces into thriving, lush gardens and her knack for creating arrangements that are unlike anything else out there.
