Kate Walz is the owner and creator of KW Gardens & Flowers, located in Port Washington, New York, on Long Island's north shore (Zone 7b). She is a horticulturist, garden consultant, floral designer, and an enthusiast of all things growing in nature.
Specializing in creating beautiful gardens that thrive in every season, Kate also crafts garden-style floral arrangements that highlight the beauty of seasonal, local flowers and foliage. Her passion for plants, flowers, and nature has been a lifelong journey.
Kate holds a BA in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts and a degree in Urban Horticulture & Design from Farmingdale State College in New York. She founded KW Garden Design to help homeowners on Long Island create vibrant gardens with fresh color palettes and seasonally engaging plants. Recognizing the connection between natural beauty and well-being, Kate’s work merges her academic background and artistic sensibility to create spaces that nurture both the environment and the soul.
Expanding her expertise, Kate established KW Gardens & Flowers to incorporate floral design into her services. Known for her natural, whimsical, and garden-inspired aesthetic, her designs often feature seasonal flowers sourced locally and domestically, supporting sustainable practices and flower growers.
